First steps

When we get to know each other, we will first do a placement test, both oral and written, so that we can see what level you already have and what your level of knowledge is.

After that we will talk about your goals and which type of course is right for you.

Together we analyze what type of learner you are and, accordingly, which material best suits you, your learning goals and your interests.

Last but not least, we will decide how much time you can and want to invest in the lessons. We determine lesson length and frequency.

You can already take the written placement test here:

Teaching method

How we structure the lessons depends heavily on which level, which goals and which material we have defined or selected. The lessons will look like this.

What you can be sure of, however, are the following points:

You set the pace

I adapt the speed of the lessons and the learning progress to your pace. Even in a group, it is ensured that the pace is right for everyone. What is not understood we will repeat and practice until it is clear.

All components play a role

We will deal with all aspects of the German language. The core competencies are: listening, speaking, reading and writing. And of course grammar and structures will play an important role.

Talking comes first

A language lives only through speaking. Even though we train all skills, we will put an emphasis on oral communication and it will be a big part of the lesson.

Your interests count

Learning should be fun, so it’s also important to cover topics that are interesting to you. You tell me your wishes and we will incorporate them into the lessons as far as possible.

German as much as possible

Depending on what level you already have, we will speak German as much as possible in class and I will also explain a lot in German. You will improve your listening comprehension and communication skills step by step. However, I will always make sure you understand everything and explain in English or Spanish if necessary.
